Mission Statement

Thrive Grant Foundation funds access to personal growth and healing programs for people who cannot afford them — and then measures what happens. We use the same validated clinical instruments the establishment uses: PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5, PSQI, WHODAS 2.0, and SF-36. Results are administered by independent third-party evaluators, collected at baseline, monthly during the grant period, and at six and twelve months post-program. Every result is published openly. We don't claim to practice therapy. We fund access to transformation — and prove that it works.

Suggested Story Angles

These are suggested framings — not copy-paste articles. Each represents a genuine angle on what Thrive Grant is doing and why it matters.

01

The Nonprofit That's Proving Therapy Works — With Data

Most mental health interventions are taken on faith. Thrive Grant is taking a different approach: measuring outcomes with the same rigor the research establishment uses, then publishing everything. What happens when a small nonprofit holds itself to a higher standard than most universities?

02

A Community Votes on Who Gets a Life-Changing Grant

Applications to Thrive Grant go through a community voting process. The people who decide who gets funded aren't a panel of experts behind closed doors — they're community members who have opted in to participate. What does democratized grant-making look like in practice, and what does it reveal about how we allocate help?

03

Two People in Austin Are Taking on the Mental Health Industry

No institutional backing. No pharmaceutical sponsors. No establishment approval. Two founders in Austin built a nonprofit from scratch with a simple premise: fund real transformation, measure it honestly, and share the results. The story of what it takes to challenge a $200+ billion industry with nothing but a mission and a spreadsheet.

04

What Happens When You Measure What No One Wants to Measure?

The mental health industry has largely avoided rigorous longitudinal measurement of personal growth interventions. Thrive Grant is filling that gap — not with opinion, but with data. PHQ-9 scores. GAD-7 assessments. Twelve-month follow-ups. What happens when you insist on measuring what everyone else hand-waves away?

Pull Quotes — From Dewey's Story

Dewey was a program participant whose experience captures why this work matters. These quotes may be used with attribution to Thrive Grant Foundation.

"I'd been told my whole life that what I was going through was just something you live with. I didn't know there was another option."

— Dewey, Thrive Grant program participant

"Nobody asked me to prove I deserved help. They just helped. That was new."

— Dewey, Thrive Grant program participant

"Six months later, I have a job. I talk to my family again. The numbers might show that, but they can't show what it felt like to come back to life."

— Dewey, Thrive Grant program participant
