Step 1 of 5

The TRA-70 Assessment

Before applying, every candidate completes the TRA-70. This is not a test you pass or fail — it's a structured tool to understand where you are and whether this program is the right fit for your journey right now.

What Is the TRA-70?

The TRA-70 (Thrive Readiness Assessment, 70-item) is a structured self-report questionnaire developed to evaluate readiness and fit for the Thrive Grant program. It is designed to surface where you are across seven key dimensions of well-being and life functioning.

The assessment takes approximately 20–30 minutes to complete and is administered entirely online through the Thrive Grant web application.

Not a Diagnosis

The TRA-70 does not diagnose any condition. It is not a clinical instrument and its results should not be interpreted as a medical evaluation. It measures readiness and fit — nothing more.

What It Measures

The TRA-70 evaluates seven dimensions that inform whether the Thrive Grant program is a meaningful fit for where you are right now.

Psychological Well-being

Current mental and emotional state, including mood, resilience, and sense of purpose.

Social Connectedness

Quality of relationships, sense of belonging, and support systems in daily life.

Functional Capacity

Ability to engage in work, daily activities, and personal responsibilities.

Self-Perception

How you see yourself, your strengths, and your capacity for growth.

Readiness for Change

Openness and motivation to engage in a structured personal growth experience.

Life Satisfaction

Broad sense of fulfillment across major life domains — relationships, health, meaning.

Stress and Coping

Current stress load and the strategies you use to manage it.

Why It Matters

For You

The TRA-70 gives you a structured picture of where you are today. Whether or not you proceed with an application, completing the assessment is an act of self-reflection that many candidates describe as clarifying. You'll receive a summary of your responses — not a score, not a verdict.

For the Program

The assessment helps ensure that the grant is matched to people who are ready to engage meaningfully with the experience. It protects both participants and the integrity of the program's outcomes data. The TRA-70 results form your baseline — the starting point against which your journey will be measured.

For the Evidence Base

Every assessment is a data point. Aggregated across participants, TRA-70 baselines allow Thrive Grant to publish honest, meaningful outcomes research. We use the same instruments the establishment uses — so our findings can be evaluated by those who hold those instruments in high regard.

What Happens After

1

You complete the TRA-70

Done at your own pace via the Thrive Grant web app. No time pressure.

2

Your results are reviewed

The system evaluates your responses for program fit. This is not a manual review by staff — it is an automated eligibility screen.

3

Eligible candidates proceed to application

If the assessment indicates a good fit, you'll be invited to submit a full application telling your story to the community.

Not a match right now?

That's okay. The TRA-70 reflects a moment in time — not a permanent judgment. You're encouraged to check back in a future cycle.

Your Privacy Is Protected

Assessment responses are stored securely and used only for eligibility screening and anonymized outcomes research. Your individual responses are never shared publicly. If you proceed to application, your application is published to the community using a pseudonym — your real identity stays private.
